Of which forty-seven are covered with entries. The purchase of this book is recorded in the Churchwardens' Accounts for 1598 in the following terms: Ite. For a Register book of parchment xiis, and the accuracy of the transcripts of the entries up to that date is testified by the signatures of Wm. Place (vicar of Boughton 17th March, 1589, to his death in I637 - buried April 7th) and Richard Rucke, one of the Churchwardens, and the mark of Thomas Hendman the other Churchwarden.
