CHRISANTHI AVGEROU is Lecturer in Information Systems at the London School of Economics. Before embarking on an academic career she worked as a programmer and systems analyst developing banking systems. Her research interests include the relationship of information technology to institutional reform and organizational change, and the role of IT in socio-economic development. TONY CORNFORD is Senior Lecturer in Information Systems at the London School of Economics.
