Until two years ago, Matt the Electrician had never tried co-writing. In 2009, Matt joined forces with The House of Songs (a collaborative songwriting exchange between Denmark and Austin, TX) and spent much of the next year co-writing songs with Danish musicians. He was subsequently invited, in May of 2010, to be a part of The Nordic Co-Writers, a three day intensive co-writing workshop at a 16th century haunted castle in the Danish countryside. The workshop brought together writers from Austin, Iceland, Norway, Denmark and The Faroe Islands in the name of collaborative creation. Six of the twelve songs on his new CD, Accidental Thief, are co-writes; and five of those were written at Engelsholm Castle, in Denmark.
